The 2018 Lorca’s Granada Retreat was held from May 14 to May 28 in Granada, Spain. The retreat offered time to write, one-on-one consultations, and local excursions for published poets, fiction writers, and nonfiction writers writing in any language. The retreat also offered discussions about the work and life of poet and dramatist Federico Garcia Lorca. The faculty included poet and fiction and nonfiction writer Gerry Shikatani. The cost of the retreat was $2,200 Canadian (approximately $1,760) which included tuition, lodging, some meals, and local tours. Registration was first come, first served; a deposit of $450 Canadian (approximately $359) was due upon acceptance to the retreat. Writers submitted via e-mail a short bio, curriculum vitae, project statement, and either proof of full-length book publication or a writing sample of 10 to 15 pages.
