The 39th annual Kentucky Women Writers Conference was held on September 15 and September 16, 2017 at the Carnegie Center in Lexington. The conference featured workshops and craft talks in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. The faculty included poets Natalie Diaz, Camille Dungy, and Kristi Maxwell; fiction writers Claire Vaye Watkins and Kayla Rae Whitaker; and nonfiction writers Jessica Handler, Elena Passarello, and Melynda J. Price. Participating agents included Elaine Trevorrow (EMT Agency). Tuition, which included conference registration and a workshop, is $200. General registration, without a workshop, is $125; the cost for students was $30. Manuscript consultations with a literary agent were available for an additional $45; writers applied by August 11.
