The 40th annual Kentucky Women Writers Conference will be held on September 13 to September 16 at the Carnegie Center in Lexington. The conference features workshops and craft talks in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. The faculty includes poets Gabrielle Calvocoressi, Tarfia Faizullah, and Sarah McCartt-Jackson; fiction writers Mary Gaitskill, Deirdra McAfee, BettyJoyce Nash, Leesa Cross-Smith, and Sherry Thomas; nonfiction writers Erin Chandler, Angela Palm, and Joni Tevis; and publishing consultant Jane Friedman. Tuition, which includes conference registration and a workshop, is $200. General registration, without a workshop, is $125; the cost for students is $30.
