Author's Bio

Judy Hogan founded Carolina Wren Press (1976-91), and was co-editor of Hyperion Poetry Journal, 1970-81). She has published six volumes of poetry, two mysteries, and two other prose works with small presses.She is also publishing all sixteen of her mysteries under her own imprint Hoganvillaea Books. She has taught all forms of creative writing since 1974. She joined Sisters in Crime in 2007 and has focused on writing and publishing traditional mystery novels. In 2011 Killer Frost (Mainly Murder Press, 2012) was a finalist in the St. Martin’s Malice Domestic Mystery contest. Mainly Murder Press in 2013 published Farm Fresh and Fatal. Under Hoganvillaea Books Judy published The Sands of Gower, the First Penny Weaver Mystery, and Haw: the Second Penny Weaver Mystery. Nuclear Apples? the Third Penny Weaver Mystery comes out September 1, 2016. Judy worked on exchanges with Russian writers, 1990-2001, and has given papers at University of Kostroma literary conferences twice. The twists and turns of her life’s path over the years have given her plenty to write about. She is also a small farmer and an environmental activist and lives in Moncure, N.C.
