Author's Bio

A poet and arts-in-education advocate, JoAnn Balingit was born in Columbus, Ohio and grew up in Lakeland, Florida. She was educated at Florida State, University of California, Irvine and Indiana University, and received a doctorate in Education from the University of Delaware in 2008. From 2008-2015, she served as Delaware's poet laureate, and teaches poetry in schools and community organizations. JoAnn is an Assistant Editor for YesYes Books, and an editor at Delaware Poetry Review.
