Author's Bio

Jane Alynn is a poet, essayist, and fine art photographer. A retired psychotherapist, she received an MFA in Creative Writing/Poetry from Antioch University Los Angeles. She was awarded 2nd place in New South's 2012 poetry contest and in 2004 she was awarded a William Stafford Award from Washington Poets Association. Her first full-length collection of poems, Necessity of Flight, was published by Cherry Grove in 2011. A chapbook, Threads & Dust, was published by Finishing Line Press in 2005, and her poems have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies. She has led poetry workshops, organized community poetry readings and other literary events, and served briefly on the Board of Washington Poets Association. As a fine art photographer, she has numerous exhibitions and awards to her credit.
