The 33rd annual Iowa Summer Writing Festival will be held in June and July on the University of Iowa campus in Iowa City. The festival, open to writers of all levels over the age of 18, features more than 125 weeklong and weekend-long workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. The faculty includes poets Dorothy Barresi, Katie Ford, and Zach Savich; fiction writers Naomi Jackson and Anthony Varallo; and creative nonfiction writers Marilyn Abildskov, Hope Edelman, and Robin Hemley. Tuition is $705 per weeklong workshop, and $365 per weekend workshop. Lodging is available for discounted rates at area hotels and inns. Registration is first come, first served.
