The 14th annual Eckerd College Writers’ Conference: Writers in Paradise will be held from January 13, 2018, to January 20, 2018, at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. The conference features lectures, panels, roundtable discussions, readings, and workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. The faculty includes poets Richard Blanco, Denise Duhamel, Major Jackson, and Peter Meinke; fiction writers Lan Samantha Chang, Andre Dubus III, Laura Lippman, Stewart O’Nan, Cathie Pelletier, Les Standiford, Sterling Watson; creative nonfiction writers Ann Hood and Helen Wallace; editor Colleen Lawrie (PublicAffairs); and agent Alexis Hurley (InkWell Management). The cost of the conference is $875, which does not include lodging or meals. Lodging is available at the nearby Magnuson Cove Hotel for a discounted rate of $77 per night, and at the Avalon Hotel in downtown St. Petersburg for $113 per night. Scholarships are available.
