Author's Bio

Among other things, Daniel has been an actor, the lead singer/lyricist for the Indie rock band Mining for Rain, and a poetry book reviewer for NewPages.com. His poems have appeared widely in journals & magazines, both online and in print, in Australia, the UK, and the U.S. including: The Australia Times, Colorado Life Magazine, The Galway Review, Nomos Journal, Think Journal, and VerseWrights. He has also read his work on live public radio as a guest poet on The Poetry Show in Ft. Collins, CO. A member of the Colorado Poets Center, he is also an accomplished preacher and a Brother in the Order of Saint Luke.

Colorado Author's League Book Award for Poetry (for Where Sunday Used to Be), 3rd place award in the 2013 Robert Cochran Brooks Memorial Contest for the poem "Catching Chickens." 3rd place award in the 2014 Samuel Marmaduke Memorial Contest for the poem "Hunting Hearts." Honorable Mention in the 2016 Ann Woodbury-Hafen Contest for the poem “A Flock Made Flesh." Purple Dragonfly Award for Excellence in Children's Literature (for Put On Your Silly Pants, 2016 and for The Trickster: Poems for Very Clever Children & Silly Adults, 2019). Royal Dragonfly Book Award for Poetry for Quiet Insurrections (2018).
