Author's Bio

I am an adjunct professor of creative writing at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I serve as an Advisory Editor for New Letters magazine,where my books reviews often appear, and a presenter at the annual summer New Letters Weekend Conference.
I have also recently served as the instructor/faciliator for the Memory Project at the Midwest Center for Holocaust Education, working with Holocaust survivors to write personal essays concerning their experiences before, during and after the Nazi era. They have produced a book, The Memory Project, available from MCHE.
I have also spent years teaching English as a second language, in Taiwan and Japan, and also in the USA, at refugee resettlement centers and on college campuses.
The "clash of cultures" is a recurring in my work.
My plays (including "The Mozart Project" and "The Cove" have been professioanlly produced regionally and the HotInk! New Play Festival, sponsored by the Tisch School at NYU.
