Author's Bio

Writing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My dream as a seven-year-old was to be a published author. I remember listening to my grandfather tell stories to me as a child, recognizing the skill of being able to weave together characters, details, and plot to capture an audience's interest and imagination. It is that ability to play with one's imagination that draws me so strongly to creative writing. I seek to leave an impression with my words, my ideas, my images, and my stories - an impression on others just as my grandfather's voice did for me.

I wrote my first short story in second grade, and over my childhood years, wrote countless more. My passion for creative writing and language took me to St. Olaf College where I majored in English and Women's Studies. Later, I earned my Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from Hamline University. I now work as the Writing Center Coordinator for White Bear Lake Area High School, and live in Minneapolis with my husband and children. "Chasing the Moon" is my first novel.
