The 2016 Bread Loaf in Sicily Conference will be held from September 18 to September 24 in Erice, an ancient hilltop town on the western coast of Sicily. The conference features intensive six-person workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as craft classes and faculty readings. The faculty includes poets Elizabeth Spires and C. Dale Young; fiction writers Madison Smartt Bell and Helen Schulman; and nonfiction writer John Elder. Tuition is $2,930, which includes lodging and meals. The fee for auditors who do not have a manuscript is $2,705. Submit up to eight pages of poetry or up to 6,000 words of prose with a $15 application fee by March 15.
