Author's Bio

Barbara Purcell is a poet, essayist, arts and culture writer, and fiction writer. She is the author of “Black Ice: Poems” (Fly By Night Press, 2006). Her essays have appeared in various anthologies, including “Heads and Tales” (Charta, 2009), “Yoga: Philosophy For Everyone” (Wiley Blackwell, 2011), and WORD (A Gathering of the Tribes, 2017). 

Her work has also appeared in Texas Monthly, the Brooklyn Rail, the Austin Chronicle, Salmagundi Magazine, Filmmaker Magazine, Sightlines Magazine, Chicago's THE SEEN International Arts Journal, and Tribes Magazine. 
 

She is a graduate of Skidmore College and lives in Austin, Texas.
