The Anam Cara Writer’s and Artist’s Retreat offers one-week to one-month residencies year-round to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers near Eyeries in County Cork, Ireland, overlooking Coulagh Bay. Residents are provided with a private room and all meals. The weekly residency fee ranges from €700 to €800 (approximately $777 to $888), depending on the room. Anam Cara also offers weeklong workshop-based retreats. “Mythic Imagination,” taught by poet and creative nonfiction writer Adam Wyeth will be held from June 20 through June 27. “Narrative Empathy: Creating Complex Characters in Our Fiction,” taught by poet and editor Sarah Byrne, will be held from July 25 to August 1. “Storytelling Through the Hero’s Journey,” taught by fiction writer Siofra O’Donovan, will be held from August 8 through August 15.
