The Algonkian Writer Conference–New York City Pitch for fiction writers and creative nonfiction writers was held from March 22 to March 25 at the Ripley-Grier Studios in New York City. The conference featured workshops on writing and selling fiction and creative nonfiction manuscripts, as well as agent pitch sessions. The faculty included fiction writers Susan Breen and Michael Neff; editors Ibrahim Ahmad (Akashic Books), Corinna Barsan (Grove Atlantic), Rebecca Brewer (Ace Books), Kat Brzozowski (St. Martin's Press), Jackie Cantor (Berkley Publishing Group), Tom Colgan (Penguin), and Bess Cozby (Tor/Forge Books). The cost of the conference was $795 until March 18, and $895 thereafter. Using the online registration system, writers submitted a bio and a brief manuscript synopsis.
