Author's Bio

Alexandra Teague is the author of three books of poetry: Mortal Geography (Persea 2010), winner of the 2009 Lexi Rudnitsky Prize and the 2010 California Book Award for Poetry; The Wise and Foolish Builders (Persea 2015); and Or What We'll Call Desire (Persea 2017), as well as the novel The Principles Behind Flotation (Skyhorse 2017). The recipient of a Stegner Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, and the 2014 Missouri Review Editors’ Prize, Alexandra's poems and essays have appeared in New England Review, Missouri Review, Threepenny Review, Best American Poetry, and many other publications. She is a Professor of Creative Writing and Co-Director of the MFA program at University of Idaho. Her most recent book, Spinning Tea Cups: A Mythical American Memoir, is forthcoming from Oregon State University Press in October 2023.
