Alessandra Bava

Author's Bio

Alessandra Bava lives and works in the Eternal city. She holds an MA in American Literature and she manages her own translation agency. She is the author of a bilingual collection Guerrilla Blues (Edizioni Ensemble, 2012) and a bilingual chapbook Nocturne (Edizioni Pulcinoelefante, 2013). In 2016 her first collection entirely in Italian, A rima armata, has been published by Gilgamesh Edizioni. Three of her chapbooks have appeared in the US: They Talk About Death, a winner of Blood Pudding Press 2014 Chapbook Contest, Diagnosis (2015) and Love & Other Demons (2017), both released by Dancing Girl Press. She is a Co-founder of Rome's Revolutionary Poets Brigades and is the editor of Rome's Revolutionary Poets Brigade Vol. 1 (Edizioni Ensemble, 2012) and Articolo 1 (Edizioni Albeggi, 2014). She has translated into Italian poetry by Jack Hirschman, George Szirtes, Gerard Malanga, Alejandro Murguía, Michel Butor and many others. She has edited and translated Nuova Antologia di Poeti Americani (A New Anthology of American Poets) published by Ensemble (2015). She is currently writing the biography of a contemporary American poet.
