The 2023 Writer’s Hotel Maine “Mini MFA” All-Fiction Writers Conference will be held from May 24 to May 30 at the Spruce Point Inn in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. The conference features a full-manuscript pre-conference reading with two sets of editorial comments, workshops, and attendee and faculty readings for fiction writers. One-on-one agent pitching as well as pitching practice sessions will take place post-conference via Zoom on June 10. Faculty includes fiction writers Jeffrey Ford, Elizabeth Hand, James Patrick Kelly, Lewis Robinson, and Debra Spark; nonfiction writer Elyssa East; and conference directors and editors Shanna McNair and Scott Wolven. The cost of the conference is $3,500. Lodging and meals are not included. Using only the online application system, writers submitted 5,000 words of prose and a brief cover letter and bio with a $30 application fee by March 20. Visit the website for more information.
