The fifth annual Publish and Promote Your Book Conference for fiction writers and creative nonfiction writers was held on June 23 at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York. The conference featured panels on book publishing and marketing with agents, editors, and other publishing professionals, as well as individual pitch sessions. Participating editors included Josh Kendall (Little A/Brown & Co/ Mulholland Books), Christine Pride (Simon & Schuster), and Laura Van Der Meer (Little A). Participating agents include Barbara Braun (Barbara Braun Associates), Jennifer Carlson (Dunow, Carlson & Lerner Literary), Andrea Cascardi (Transatlantic Agency), Kerry D’Agostino (Curtis Brown), Jess Dallow (Brower Literary & Management), Cherise Fisher (Wendy Sherman Associates), Merrilee Heifetz (Writers House), Sara Henry (Sobel Weber Associates), Nicole James (Chalberg & Sussman), Jeff Kleinman (Folio Literary Management), and Stacy Testa (Writers House). The cost of the conference was $425, which included lunch. Ten-minute individual pitch sessions with agents and editors (held on Wednesday, June 20, and Friday, June 22) were available for an additional $75; writers submitted a one-page summary and the first five pages of a book by June 18.
