The University of Lethbridge Gushul Residency Program offers residencies from one week to four months year-round to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers at a cottage in the Rocky Mountains, located in the town of Blairmore, Alberta, Canada. Residents are provided with private lodging in the Gushul Writer’s Cottage, which includes a full kitchen, bath, and work space. Residents are responsible for their own meals and travel expenses. The cost of the residency is $225 CAD per week, $400 CAD for half a month, or $600 CAD per month. Established and emerging writers are encouraged to apply. For residencies beginning in January 2018, submit a writing sample of up to ten pages of poetry or prose along with a project proposal, an application form, and a CV; there is no application fee.
