The 17th Atlanta Writers Conference for fiction and nonfiction writers will be held from November 3 to November 4 at the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport Hotel in Atlanta. The conference features publishing panels, pitch sessions, manuscript and query letter critiques, and a workshop on contracts and legal issues for writers. Participating publishing professionals includes editors Annie Chagnot (Spiegel & Grau), Jennie Conway (St. Martin’s Press), Sylvan Creekmore (St. Martin’s Press), Priyanka Krishnan (Morrow/Avon/Harper Voyager), Amber Oliver (Harper Books/Amistad), and Whitney Ross (Tor/Forge/Starscape/Tor Teen), and agents Melissa Danaczko (Stuart Krichevsky Literary Agency), Michael Hoogland (Dystel Goderich & Bourret), Alyssa Jennette (Stonesong Literary Agency), Paul Levine (Paul S. Levine Literary Agency), Patricia Nelson (Marshal Lyon Literary Agency), and Eric Smith (P. S. Literary Agency). The cost of a single session ranges from $50 to $170 depending on the activity; the cost of the discounted “All-Activities Package,” which includes two manuscript critiques, one query letter critique, two pitch sessions, the legal issues workshop, and two Q&A panels, is $620. Lodging is available at the conference hotel for a discounted rate of $119 per night until October 12. If you are not a current member of the Atlanta Writers Club, dues of $50 will be added to provide membership for 365 days. The deadline to register for a manuscript critique is October 3.
