In this livestreamed event, poet and drag performer Wo Chan, author of Togetherness, forthcoming from Nightboat Books in September, and poet CAConrad, author most recently of AMANDA PARADISE: Resurrect Extinct Vibration (Wave Books, 2021), read from their works at the Poetry Project in New York City.
“When I fell for the video girl in Omarion’s ‘Touch,’ I never thought I would come to know her name,” reads Carina del Valle Schorske from the first chapter of her debut essay collection, The Other Island, forthcoming from Riverhead Books, in this Poetry Project reading with poet Sheila Maldonado, author of that’s what you get (Brooklyn Arts Press, 2021).

“I lost the prejudice of paradise / And wound up caring for the babies of these guys,” reads Bernadette Mayer from her poem “Eve of Easter” in this 1978 episode of Public Access Poetry with Lewis Warsh at the Poetry Project in New York.
“Poetry is mere reality. No proof, just be here,” reads Alice Notley, author most recently of For the Ride (Penguin Books, 2020), in this reading held at the Poetry Project in New York City.
“How we write is we feel around on the ground with our hands to find what has fallen before us isn’t and must be ours to speak of.” Ari Banias, author of the debut poetry collection, Anybody (Norton, 2016), reads a selection of his poems for the Poetry Project. Banias is featured in “Shadows of Words: Our Twelfth Annual Look at Debut Poets” in the January/February issue of Poets & Writers Magazine.
"The future isn't machines constantly slamming..." Corinna Copp reads her poem "Poor Wave" at the Poetry Project along with Miguel Gutierrez.
