“This city is full / of stranger things than a man collecting foil.” This short film is an adaptation of a poem of the same title by Matthew Yeager, author of Like That (Forklift Books, 2016) and cocurator of the KGB Monday Night Poetry Series. Directed by Sean Logan, the film features a drum score by tabla player Marcus Wise.

Herbert White is a short film based on Frank Bidart’s poem “Herbert White,” which takes the form of a psychopathic murderer’s dramatic monologue. Written and directed by James Franco in collaboration with Bidart, the 2010 film stars Michael Shannon.
“The systemic structure built to keep me in place is the stage I dance on. Black, and woman.” This short film featuring principal ballerina Misty Copeland is paired with a poem by Saul Williams for Under Armour’s online ad campaign, “Unlike Any,” which highlights women athletes performing to poems.

Written and directed by Graham Sack, this virtual reality film is an adaptation of George Saunders’s debut novel, Lincoln in the Bardo (Random House, 2017). Saunders speaks about his debut novel in “The Emotional Realist Talks to Ghosts” in the March/April issue of Poets & Writers Magazine.
Spoken word artist Kelly Tsai narrates her poem for this short film animated by Ryan Hartley Smith. Tsai wrote the poem in dedication to those who have served in AmeriCorps and others who have volunteered their time and energy to provide public services and community improvements.
