Poet Jim Daniels wrote the screenplay for Mr. Pleasant, a film about one weekend in the life of Red, a student in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, in the early 1980s. The film will be shown on Friday, November 19, at the Three Rivers Film Festival in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Watch the trailer.
The Practice of the Wild, a documentary film about Pulitzer-Prize winning poet Gary Snyder, who has been called the poet laureate of deep ecology, premieres in New York City on November 12.
The Hamilton Museum of Wood Type, located in the small town of Two Rivers, Wisconsin, houses 1.5 million pieces of wood type.
