I have been writing mostly for myself since I was a little girl. I studied writing in college, but found myself pulled to education after graduation. I teach middle school students the craft of writing and instill in them a love of reading. I write when I can, but am always looking for more time to write.

Most of what I write is middle grade or young adult fiction. I know that audience and often feel like I haven't grown out of those stories.

I don't have a lot of practical experience but have a degree in Creative Writing. I've been working on a children/teen novel for a couple years and have just gotten myself stuck. I also write a lot of teen and adult for fun and am really looking to just get the creativity going again. Since leaving school I've probably written less than a thousand words.

I'm currently a building substitute at an elementary school and pursuing a Masters in English at the secondary level. I also, for fun and extra cash, work as an Escape Room game master on weekends. I have a nervous dog and an angry cat who sometimes make an appearance in my day (normally they just sleep).

I don't need hyper focus on my projects or focus at all. My goal is maybe just people to keep me writing and creative. I would prefer a group that doesn't mind talking or sharing creativity. I love to talk my ideas aloud.

I participated in NaNoWriMo for years and this year I just couldn't find the time to do it. So I think I'm also looking for some accountability from a group.

I'm feeling for routes through a sprawling landscape of documentary fiction and other disciplines such as memoir, history, three-dimensional objects on exhibit, and performance. The broad topics might include diaspora, genocide, mothers and daughters, secrets and lies, and monuments, memories, and memorials.

Sarah Hamidi

Hello. My name is Sarah Hamidi and I'm a student journalist, writer, and actress. I aspire to be a writer among many other things. I want to share my stories with the world and seek to enlighten myself with knowledge about society, people, and the world.

I hope to share my writing with the world in the hopes that they feel enlightened or that they've learned something from reading my writing and my works.

I have written before on my own as I enjoy journalism a lot. But, I enjoy the right kind of journalism, one that informs the public with accurate information and provides insight. I've been on hiatus with my Medium page, but I hope to resume writing on it soon and fully intend to do so.

I'm looking for a group that will continue to encourage me and critique my writing while honing my writing skills. I need a lot of help and encouragement for writing a book and I'm hoping to get support and help every step of the way in that endeavor.

I look forward to working with you all and let's create some awesome writing.
