Bringing together poets and artists to create affordable letterpress printed poetry booklets (pamphlets).

Submissions for small (<54pp) collections considered by email. Note that it is unlikely that we will be able to publish poets submitting from outside the UK. The economics of supporting promotion of such work make it not really practical.

Other Press attracts authors who are guided by a passion to discover the limits of knowledge and imagination. We publish novels, short stories, and essays from America and around the world that represent literature at its best. Our nonfiction books–should they be history, current events, popular culture or memoir–explore how psychic, cultural, historical, and literary shifts inform our vision of the world and of each other.

Mayapple Press is a small literary press founded in 1978 by poet and editor Judith Kerman. We focus on literature not often celebrated by either the mainstream or the avant-garde. This includes poetry which is both challenging and accessible; women’s writing; Great Lakes/Northeast literature; the immigrant experience; science fiction poetry; Jewish literature; and poetry in translation.

We ONLY accept unsolicited submissions during our open periods, which are generally in summer but not every year. Please watch our Submissions page for open periods, and then submit using Submishmash, our online submissions program. Please do not submit except during open periods.

We do not accept hard-copy or email submissions, although email queries are fine.
