A nine-month fellowship, including a $16,000 stipend, is given annually to a Christian writer of poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction to complete a first book. Writers who are U.S. citizens and have completed an MFA in creative writing or an MA in creative writing, English, or the humanities are eligible. The fellowship will take place at the Milton Center, which is based on the campus of Seattle Pacific University, from September 15, 2013, to June 15, 2014. Fellows contribute to the center's ongoing work and teach courses in the SPU English department. Submit 8 to 12 poems or 30 to 50 pages of prose, a book proposal, a biography, and a brief explanation of goals to accomplish at the Milton Center with a $25 entry fee by March 15. Applicants should also submit three letters of recommendation, sent directly to the Milton Center. Send an SASE, call, e-mail, or visit the website for the required entry form and complete guidelines.
