A prize of $5,000 is given annually for a book-length work of poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction by an author of color published in the United States during the previous year. Authors may be of any nationality. Publishers and agents may submit three copies of a book published in 2011 with a $50 entry fee by February 1. Fee waivers are available for small presses.
