A prize, valued at $2,500, to attend an eleven-day session of Carlow University’s low-residency MFA program in Pittsburgh is given annually to a woman poet over 40 years of age who has not published a book in any genre. The winner also receives publication of the winning work in Voices From the Attic, the university’s literary journal, and an invitation to give a reading at Carlow University with the judge, who this year is Patricia Smith. Submit two poems with a $20 entry fee, which includes a copy of Voices From the Attic, by April 1. Send an SASE, call, or e-mail for complete guidelines.
