A prize of $10,000 and a two-month residency at Lake Forest College is given annually to a prose poet, a fiction writer, or a creative nonfiction writer to complete an innovative work-in-progress. The winner also receives publication of his or her manuscript by &NOW Books, an imprint of Lake Forest College Press, with distribution by Northwestern University Press. Writers who are under the age of 40 and who have not published a book are eligible. Using the online submission system, submit up to 30 pages of prose poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction, a project statement, and a curriculum vitae. The deadline is March 1; only the first 200 entries will be considered. There is no entry fee. Visit the website for complete guidelines.
