A prize of $3,000 and an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City to meet with editors and agents is given annually for a poem, a short story, or an essay. Prizes of $1,000 each are also given for a work in each genre. Submit a poem of up to 32 lines, a story of up to 4,000 words, or an essay of up to 2,000 words by June 3. The entry fee for poetry is $15 ($10 for each additional poem) before May 6, and $20 thereafter. The entry fee for prose is $27 ($20 for each additional entry) before May 6, and $32 thereafter.
