MFA rankings??!! Can't Post

I'm Carl, and I am currently going through the whole process of applying to mfa programs. I was disappointed to see that this year's mfa issue was without rankings. The way the schools are evaluated is kind of confusing. Also, I'm always interested in new ideas about plot, character development, etc. I saw Jeffrey Eugenides read last year and he said he felt like it took him until the writing of his second novel to start to understand the process of plotting a story. Thanks!

Welcome, Carl. Look around and I think you'll find a number of areas here that will interest you.

Welcome Carl.

I suggest reading THIS from AWP's Executive Director, David Fenza. It explains why MFA program rankings are problematic at best, and lays out how to begin thinking about which programs might work best for you. I highly encourage you to read faculty work while making decisions about where to apply. It is always good to talk to alums/current students, as well.
