New and Needs Help Finding an Editor	Can't Post

Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the Speakeasy community. I finished my final draft of my debut novel, now I need help finding an editor to proof it. I'm kind of leaning towards self-publishing, because when I sent queries and parts of my manuscripts out to potential agents earlier this year, I received nothing but rejection notices. This is my first novel and I have been holding on to it for too long. I need to let it fly free! I live in Chicago and if anyone knows of a good editor who is open-minded regarding vernacular, please let me know. Thanks!!!

Welcome, Melinda!

Do you need proofreading, or editing? Those are two different jobs. And you can probably find professsionals here who can do it for you, and you might even find people who will trade jobs with you -- an edit for an edit.

And any good editor will not be troubled by vernacular.
