Greeting and salutations community! I am new to speakeasy but old to writing. I've been writing poems and short stories for what seems like my entire life (at least beginning in middle school :-). I've been published a couple of times for my poetry and was asked to write a children's book a month after I graduated from high school. Unfortunately, someone threw it away thinking it was junk mail after reading it. :-)
Now, after 2 years of writing and 1 year of editing, I've completed my first full length novel. Which brought me here. In hopes of connecting with people who've been out there in the writing world and can give me some direction on my next steps. From what I've found so far, literary agents seem to be the way to go but that is all I know.
I'm open to hearing the suggestions of others, even those who are exactly where I am now. I'm glad to be here and hope it proves promising in my quest to become an internationally known author.
