The Second Serious Try to Write	Can't Post

Hello from Claire. I'm a newbie which is amusing because I'm not young at all.
I have just finished writing, eight years of process, a novel. It badly needs
revision. I badly need a break.

Taking off time to write some short stories.Finished one this weekend and realize I don't have
a clue as to where an appropriate market is. I'm no literary stylist, but neither am I a
genre writer. I guess I'm a humanist story-teller, try to write from heart, and know a lot
about the noir side of life.

Wrote a 5,000 light piece I just had fun doing. But, ARUGH, where to send. There are
so many on-line sites. How to know which is reasonably appropriate for me.

Well, happy 2012 to all writers. It's a strange gift we have--this desire to write.

Know your markets. Read what each journal publishes--they often have excerpts online.

Hi Claire,
Much has kept me from the writing flow...way to much to add it all here. It was refreshing to read that I am with others who still need to write/create. This week has been a re-awakening.

You should also check out our Literary Magazines database. We include over 750 literary magazines and journals and make sure each one is legitimate before adding it. Good luck!

Welcome, Claire! The good thing about trying to find venues now is that you can usually see examples of what the magazine publishes online, even if it's a print pub.
