How to find a list of magazines? Can't Post

I was told by my old English teacher that here I could find a list of magazines to send short stories to. I have like seven novels that I've written, but since I'm young and unpublished and without any credentials, she said that I should start here and send to magazines first. So, I started out at the end and now I have to go back to the beginning and start there. Ugh!!! Please help me find this list. I am not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to new websites.

Re: [dullc] How to find a list of magazines? [In reply to] Can't Post

You can go to http://www.duotrope.com for a list you can sort, and it's a bigger list than the one on the P&W site -- but not all the journals on this site are on Duotrope.

But in any case, the market list is on the Poets & Writers main site, not in the speakeasy. There are some lists here, but they're harder to find. Go up to the light blue bar under the Poets & Writers logo and click on Tools for Writers.
