Alli's Intro	Can't Post

I've been lurking around this forum for about...a year now. The internet makes me shy. But I think I'm ready to introduce myself. I'm originally from Wisconsin, where I received my BA at Madison. Not using the opportunity to take a class with Lorrie Moore is one of my greatest regrets.

I'm currently trying to get into an MFA program, making submissions and trying to get published. After all of the rejection these quests entail, I think I might be invincible.

I look forward to becoming a part of your community!

Welcome Alli! You have the exact determination it will take to become successful with your writing. I totally know how you feel about feeling shy on the Internet--I lurked around here for quite a while too before posting. It gets more comfortable over time.

What types of writing are you most interested in pursuing?

Thanks so much, krissy. Primarily I write contemporary short fiction, just stories about people and the things around them and such, but more than that, of course, or at least I hope that gets across. Periodically I play with my novel, but right now it's just playing. How about you?

My two favourite genres are poetry and screenplays. Though they are very tough markets, I enjoy them both immensely. I am currently taking part in the Writer's Digest Poem A Day Challenge, and the Script Frenzy Challenge where you write a 100-page script in 30 days, to exercise my writing chops. It's such an intense process, lol! :)
