new to speakeasy Can't Post

Hello everyone! I am new to the forum...a 42 year old mother of four, student at Cleveland State University (graduating in the spring), and waiting to hear from MFA programs about fall admission! My first choice school is UNC-Wilmington, and really it is my only choice as my husband (officer in the Coast Guard) is transferring to Wilmington in June. If I don't get in there then I will apply to Warren Wilson's Low-Res program....I have been writing fiction off and on from childhood on, spent a few years writing for newspapers and hope to continue my path attending an MFA program. That's about it for now! Cheers!

Many thanks! My nails are now nubs and I have a habit of restless pacing, but I have done all I can to send in the best app possible and in the end, it is all I could have done.

Welcome, Jacqueline. And remember that the MFA is not the only way to work on your writing. It's a good way for some people, but not the only way, nor for everyone.

Welcome Jacqueline. I returned for an MFA with a child (only 1, not 4!) so I have a feeling for what you are juggling. But it sounds like you won't let anything hold you back.

So true Kathy! I have been working hard on this bachelor's degree and writing in between...it helps to have a supportive partner (as I do), but I really can't wait to get into a program and keep working on my craft!

Many, many thanks to all!! First day of classes was today and I feel so energized right now...talk to me in a few weeks, though, and it could be an entirely different perspective!
