How to edit or delete a post within the allotted time Can't Post

This might be a good time and place to ask how to delete or edit a post within the allotted time on the boards that allow it. I see that the Fiction board allows this within a 15 minute period after posting. But I can't see how to actually do it once I've posted the comment. I've searched this section and others for how to do this but haven't been able to find it. I'm sure it's best to do all my editing and decisions about deletion before hitting the post button, but I'm new here (and to any kind of message board) and am trying to get used to not having the ability to revise.

when you go to your post, if it is still within the correct amount of time, there will be a button in the upper right corner of your post which says "Edit". click it, and then edit away...

if however the time has elapsed, the button will not be there.

also kathy... i think there are certain places you cannot do this (edit posts) such as this one (questions about the speakeasy). so i would say, try it here and practice, but i don't think you can.

i was once on a board or forum or whatever you call it where there was a JUST TESTING area... so people could try things out, like their signature or a link. it was great fun. i used to let my boys go there and play with the smilies. i don't really have a point, it was just fun.

okay, one more thing. have you tried using the "preview post" button at the bottom right when you are writing a post? that tends to help me to fix any glaring edit things.

of course, miskates happen :) ha ha.

Thanks for the Preview Post suggestion too. There's a lot to learn about posting for someone who hasn't been on a message board. I really appreciate the help.
