Hello, Hello! Can't Post

My name is Rachel Howzell and I'm glad to finally stop lurking in the shadows and post. I'm a novelist -- S&S published A Quiet Storm a while ago, and I just published The View from Here as an ebook. I'm a science writer at City of Hope in Los Angeles.

I'm working on a new novel now but I don't have a title nor do I know my protagonist's first name. And I don't know much about the profession I've chosen for her. And that's the wonderful thing about writing.

Nice to meet everyone!

Welcome Rachel. I'm new to the Speakeasy too. It's a great place to hear from some very savvy writers.

Welcome to the forum! I'm new here too, and love being able to keep in touch with other writers.

It took me a long time to figure out what my main character's name was going to be for my novel-- it's such a big decision! I think I ended up changing it at least a dozen times, and then one day her name just clicked. I love the little ephiphanies we have as we flesh out the storyline.
