Ready When You Are Can't Post

Hi there P&W!
My name is Melissa and I am 20 years old. I am currently pursuing my degree in psychology. : ) I began writing poetry five years ago and since then have written a little over 300 poems. Of those, I deem only about 100 of any possible worth. The rest are those personal expression ones I write on dark days to keep my sanity! ;D Sadly, I am extremely shy when it comes to my work. This is because when I first started writing, family and friends didn’t give me particularly encouraging remarks. Nevertheless I did continue with my poetry but since then I haven’t let anyone read it. I know I have improved drastically and I am trying to come out of my shell because I am seriously craving feedback! Admittedly a total novice, I joined because I think it might help me to be surrounded by real writers/poets. I admire all those with the courage and talent to create and share their works. I want to learn from you ladies and gentleman so any tips would be appreciated! Thanks for reading! I look forward to talking with everyone.

(Sorry if this was a lame intro. ^^;)

“Remember tonight...for it is the beginning of always." - Dante

“A cat has absolute emotional honesty: human beings, for one reason or another, may hide their feelings, but a cat does not.” - Hemingway

“Poetry is a deal of joy and pain and wonder, with a dash of the dictionary.” - Gibran
