I find the reading fees prohibitive

Hallo, I'm Liz. Joined the forums half on a whim, and half after realizing I'm in need of "writerly" talk. I'm a grad student, so I can get all the academic discussion I want, but I'm not in an MFA, so the creative writing moments are few and far between. In between the classes, conferences, and papers (and those little things called day jobs) I write. Poetry mainly , prose occasionally, and I love toying with those textnovel things! Say what you want about online life, they can be fun for a quick ego boost and forcing oneself to just get a draft done. Trying to publish here and there, but I find the reading fees prohibitive, as it's all shoestrings here, so it's a limited effort for now.

So, yes, I'll be playing around on a few boards here and there. Say hi sometime, and let's talk! :)

There are at least a few people here who have some academic affiliation as well as being writers. If someone wanted to open a topic on the subject, I suspect there would be some interest in it.
