Intro Can't Post

Hi.
I'm in my 30's and live in Australia. I'm working on my first novel and like writing poetry and short stories as well. I started writing as a little 'un and its always been an aim since my teens to write professionally, and yet I haven't achieved it yet. A source of great frustration.
I've been thinking of sticking my nov up on a blog as its written, but when I try to read up on information about how to proceed with copyright in Oz, it seems to say 'Stick that little C with the circle around it and you'll be right.'
I'm sure this can't be correct.
Aforementioned nov can stay tucked away in my computer, appreciated by me and the dog, should she ever learn to use a word processor. (She seems to prefer stealing the chocolate covered peanuts from my desk drawer, so I'm a little uncertain that this will actually happen.)
I've been really unwell all week, and the only thing I have written is a short story about people who lived on another planet, yet spoke english. English, in fact, with a decidedly english accent. Even as I tapped out all the great science fiction clichés I was laughing at myself. It was nonsense but I loved it and because it was written with some heart it was okay, and thats one of the things I like about fiction writing.

Hey, better make sure your reader doesn't snarfle too many of those chocolate-covered peanuts:

I don't know Australian copyright law, but your problem with posting your novel is not so much copyright law as the loss of publication rights. Many publishers will consider a book published on a blog as published, and they want work that is not published.

But in any case, welcome to the Speakeasy!
