What are the restrictions? Can't Post

I just noticed that I'm not allowed to create a new discussion in the MFA forum. I don't think I particularly want to (at the moment), but it got me curious: who's allowed? & what's the reasoning?

Anthony deWayne Ravenscroft. No, really. I have ID.

Re: [A Raven] What are the restrictions? [In reply to] Can't Post

As I recall, Motet is allowed, and it was because every time new members came in, they would start new topics on each of the schools they were interested in, not checking to see if there were already topics for them. So the same questions kept being asked and answered, and the section got clogged with redundant topics.

Oooh -- I like it. I can think of some sites where it'd be a handy filter.

Mystery solved!

Re: [pongo] What are the restrictions? [In reply to] Can't Post

David, thank you for that accurate, concise and most appreciated answer. It's the question I am asked most often and I think I will post the answer to it in the MFA forum so that I/we can simply direct people (or they can see it for themselves.)

Thanks again.

Dana

Restrictions in the MFA Forum [In reply to] Can't Post

..and apparently I have already addressed this in the MFA Forum.

So, for future questions about why new topics can't be created, please direct patrons HERE.
