Michael FitzGerald Can't Post

Hi everyone. I'm Michael FitzGerald and I'm a published author.

I had two collections of poetry out some years ago and I've also had two works of non-fiction (history) published. The last one won a prize for best historical biography.

I've also given talks to various groups and societies and have been a delegate at the Cambridge History Festival and the London Book Fair.

This year I was also the main participant in a programme shown on the Discovery Channel, called Dark Fellowships: The Vril Society, which charted some of the murkier waters of Nazi history.

I am primarily a historian of Germany from 1918 to 1945 but my next book, due out in January 2009, is a lighthearted piece of local history. It is called The Making of Modern Streatham and focuses primarily on the contemporary aspects of an area of South London called Streatham, often nicknamed 'the Las Vegas of South London.'

I am pleased to have found this forum and look forward to contributing in many different ways, not least in terms of helping other writers to fulfil their own potential.

Re: [srohrbach] Michael FitzGerald [In reply to] Can't Post

Unfortunately my two collections of poems, 'The Court of Love' and 'Poetry of Earth' were both published way back in the late 1980s. They have long been out of print and even the publisher - Ceridwen Press - is long since defunct.

My first non-fiction book, 'Storm Troopers of Satan,' published in 1990, is also out of print although following my recent appearance in a Discovery Channel programme the publisher, Robert Hale, is now considering a reprint.

My most recent volume, 'Adolf Hitler: A Portrait,' published in 2006 by Spellmount, is out of print in the hardback edition and probably the paperback version published in 2007 is out of print by now as well or at least close to it.

My forthcoming book, 'The Making of Modern Streatham,' written jointly with my wife Janet, is due out in January 2009 from the History Press.

Hello Michael,

I'm just new to this forum, but I'm pleased to see that
there are opportunities to confer with people of your
achievements. I like the themes you treat. Have you started
a thread that I can look at here?

Hello Harlequin

Thanks for your message and your kind words.

I'm afraid I haven't been very active on this forum for some time.

I'll have to start posting again soon - probably in the next few weeks when I've got more time.

Kind regards

Michael
