Stuck and would like advice Can't Post

Hello again: I am attempting to write my first book. The book from beginning to end is in my head. It's a fiction/fantasy novel about a young girl who after having a series of strange dreams has came to the conclusion that the dreams are a message. She makes out of each dream what she believes it to mean and from there believes she is being sent on a mission. Working on her own while trying to convince both family and friends that her dreams mean something, she ends up with some very adventurous outcomes. She finally realizes that the dreams were just that, dreams.

I have read to much on "The hook" and now am stuck on my opening paragraph.
First: I would like to know if any of you have had this problem.
Second: If so then what did you do to get out of being stuck?

My problem: I'm worried that after all my effort to write and the numerous hours I will have put into my book that I
will be just another trash can author.

I would trully appreciate any advice I can get on getting past my fear of rejection and just write.

Trully thank you

Buy this book!

First, welcome.

Second, you'd be wise to post this in the Fiction section. Not everyone reads every section of the board, and this belongs in fiction.

And finally, yes, many of us have had the same problems. Come down and hear what we have to say.

Re: [katelynn] Stuck and would like advice [In reply to] Can't Post

For the first time after years of trying, I wrote a first draft. I had been given advice to write and edit later, but I did not take the advice. A few months ago I told myself that I was forbidden from going back and rewriting anything. I broke the rule a little bit but not much. The other reason I was able to write was that I decided to try writing in the morning. I am not a morning person. However, I found I was able to do it. Some mornings I slept on the floor by my computer but most mornings I wrote. Usually it was only an hour or two, but it adds up. Let yourself go, and then fix the problems later. Good luck!
