L.A. Writer/New Literary Blog

Greetings. I joined and introduced myself a while ago, but have only recently participated actively, so thought I'd re-introduce myself. I'm a writer mainly of short stories, and am at work on a novel-in-stories. I don't have an MFA, opting instead for classes at UCLA Extension, and the summer workshop offered by Tin House (where I've been three times). My biggest publication so far is at Night Train. Several of my stories will be performed on Sept 12 in the New Short Fiction Series, which has in the past featured writers like Aimee Bender. I have a blog, Lit Scribbler, which has information about my own stuff, but has evolved more into a general writer's resource. You may find the information about submitting, literary magazines, etc helpful. I am keenly interested in what fiction writers can learn from playwrights and screenwriters. Even in good, published fiction, I would argue, good prose often masks flawed storytelling. I'd love to hear from anyone who shares that interest in dramatic study.
