Hello, all.

My name is Will and I'm a simple poet.

I'm pleased to have found a forum devoted to the craft of serious writing. I hold degrees in history and creative writing and tend to compose much historical fiction as a result. But my true love is poetry. And the more I age the more I'm convinced that poetry is more for me. My favorite writing influences are Charles Bukowski, Ray Bradbury, James Tate, Jack Kerouac, and Frank O' Hara.

I hope to encounter and correspond intelligently about writing, and pursuing the sex and jazz and soup of life with like minded individuals,

And so do Sharon Olds, Mary Jo Bang, and Jorie Graham. Yeah, I dig them too. But I'm hoping, with the start of September, to take very seriously ... almost religiously ... the craft of writing. And I hope to acquire literary type routines and eccentricities ... but mostly to spit out good pages that can amount to decent prose as well as verse.

It also means I'll be on these boards a lot more.

welcome. for the most part, contributors to this forum are very serious writers, but there are a few who feel the need to dominate threads and take them off course. otherwise, you will find your literary kin here more so than some other forums.
