Edit or Delete policies Can't Post

Was there an announcement about changing policies/permissions to edit or delete one's own posts?

What is the policy? Or will it vary from forum to forum now (time to time)?

Is there a way to delete posts made prior to the implementation of the limitations on the time within which one is allowed to delete (or edit) one's own posts?

And out of curiosity: why the changes?

Re: [whimsy] Edit or Delete policies [In reply to] Can't Post

In light of the recent problems we've had with editing/deleting posts long after the discussion has progressed and effectively changing the complexion of the conversation, the edit/delete permissions were changed. Spelling, grammar and clarity changes or to reconsider the post entirely are still permitted but they're now time restricted.

The policy is posted in the Forum Rules found on the bottom of each forum home page.

If a patron wants to delete older posts, Jason or I can do that for them.

Thank you.

Should requests be submitted via PM or email?

You're welcome.

Using the private message system here would be best.
