Sorry for the unnecessary digression, napk132. This should be the biggest plug for the program because I went to Bama's rival and loved it. Bama usually makes me gag :P But, the program does have a very strong sense of community (from what I've heard), has great funding, and is in an area with a low cost of living. There are teaching opportunities and opportunities to work with one of the best lit mags in the country. It's supposed to be a pretty demanding curriculum, which I like, and requires a decent amount of lit courses, which I also like (I want a good balance and they seem to have that). It's enough to make this happy Auburn grad swallow her pride and re-apply (I applied last year without success). For what it's worth!
