The Speakeasy Legend Can't Post

Okay, so maybe I am not a veteran in the speakeasy (a 1 year poster) but this is a difficult adjustment. All Agreed?
To me the Speakeasy as it was, was...well, SACRED SPACE, and I think that many here feel the same way. BUT! I am willing to give the new a chance. BUT... again It would be nice if there were a way to preserve some of what has been lost, it was said that the old Speakeasy was about community-I think it was more about family. We gathered here or rather there to share and grow our writing abilities. It was the freedom we had to express our work, thoughts, and Ideas in many different ways that made it so great. Hopefully with time the same thing will happen here in the new Speakeasy.

Re: [jaekman2] The Speakeasy Legend [In reply to] Can't Post

I couldn't get in under my original name (dunvegan), so I re-applied under my true name alone. Not only am I quite overwhelmed by the new format but, am frantically trying to catch up with everyone's thoughts regarding the changes as I’m obviously behind by a few days. Initially, I wasn't intimidated by the thread based format as I'm very accustomed to it from other boards I've frequented. However, the realization that the 'Your Writing' section or any general space available for others to share and discuss work would not be provided was crushing. Frankly, I enjoyed making the complete trip 'From Inspiration to Publication' but, I guess other agendas are cutting back that excursion. I guess, I just feel a big piece of the picture is being left out. It’s an adventure that can be found elsewhere and, I suppose, the snap shots I've accumulated in memory will have to suffice for Speakeasy reflection. I will still come around to at least utilities its informative benefits in becoming more vocational but, as for more deeply sharing, expressing and contouring myself relative and legitimate writer ... I guess I'm not finding the views I need. It’s a bit of a shame.

Hi, Wendy! I'm glad to see you found your way
back in! There have been many questions about
the absence of Your Writing and a format of
sharing creative works. I miss this aspect too,
but I am glad that Speakeasy is back with
opportunities for some kinds of sharing.

Meg! A friendly and familiar name. I've seen a few names here I recognize and some I don't at least right away. Has anyone started some type of roll call to see who has made it over, had to change name, or are still lost to the abyss? Just curious. My problem is that I'm as terrible with names in internet as I am face to face, unfortunately. The beautiful part about this world is that I can look names back up without offending. Hopfully, in admitting that I'm not offend everyone anyway. Oh well. Why not be honest.

Yes, I have seen Thomas B, Gary, Jan H., Dale E., and several
others that I knew from the dialogues in the old Speakeasy.

I don't think anyone will be offended because in order to
enter, some did have to change id's due to old email
addresses or other glitches.

Glad to see you here, and I have noticed that, as a
guide to publication, and discussion of marketable
topics, some few are posting poems under Poetry
in the Writing section below. I guess if we stay
on topic, keep the writing concerns foremost,
those posts will be accepted and appropriate.
(Looking forward! This is new and exciting!)

Hey Wendy!
It is great to see you here, I do hope that you will check back often. Changes are bound to take place especially in such a volatile climate. It is kind of like witnessing the birth of a new universe eventually life finds a way to evolve and adapt to make things easier.
Looking Forward,
Thomas :}
